I have been working in real estate academia for the last 20 years for a number of top UK universities. I am a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). My academic qualifications demonstrate a strong record in teaching, research and industry engagement.
I have a PhD in the topic of real estate valuation in Dubai, covering core analysis around commercial property valuations. My PhD covers topics including: valuation heuristics, exploring how valuers' cognitive development affect valuation problem solving; behavioural psychology in real estate, investigating the factors that influence real estate decision-making; and the operation of property markets, especially exploring the market efficiency and performance of new global markets, specifically Dubai.
I have also explored a wide range of sustainability topics related to real estate including energy efficiency and its impact on property pricing; green ratings and residential house prices and the principles of sustainable property investing and valuations (ESG).
I am a prominent expert for relevant real estate media in Dubai including regular contributions to Gulf News; The National; and Construction Weekly. My first book on Dubai real estate titled ‘The Essential Guide to the Dubai Real Estate Market’ is due out for publication in early 2023.
